The simple ramblings and observations of a creative soul seeking not to ignore the beauties of life. 27 Degree - Degree Show
27 degrees for a degree show. As soon as i floated down from the station, it felt like i was home, or if not home, then the best possible place i could think of to spend a Saturday in the sun. The degree show was part of The University of Brighton's graduate exhibition work. Work featured in photographs were a mix of Illustration and Graphic Design, and 3d design and WMCP. The beautiful illustrations, from Katie Scott, a final year Illustration student and old friend, with inspiration taken from 70's biology books and a psychedelic imagination, demonstrated that with enough conviction and a well drawn diagram, that early scientific notions could become quite believable. An amazing concept for a project;
“The foundation for this project came from a recent interest in early science and particularly antiquity’s habit of entirely fabricating the inner workings of the world around them. I like the idea that in an age of such scientific uncertainty, anybody with enough conviction in their theory (and a well drawn diagram) could claim science for themselves, resulting in incredibly strange and peculiar scientific thought. So with this in mind, my aim was to make a book of fantasy science, with a focus on the hybridisation between different categories of nature.”
More beautiful Illustration work and a selection of product and furniture concepts, ranging from antler side tables, "Disabled or Super-abled?" chairs, re-working broken and discarded furniture into objects of beauty and sustainable usability, to a latex and grass tent and hand sewn flower pots. And the last image coming from Murat Adash, a performing and visual art student, with interesting connotations and relations to the 2006 film Pans Labyrinth, directed by Guillermo de Toro.
Bravo Brighton. This year is set to produce some winners fo sho.

Too cool for even outside of a school
Dont you just love it when...................................................................
The infamous quote from the lips of Baz Luhrmann comes full circle and makes you wish you had once adhered the timely lyrics you nearly cried to in a car all those years ago. Forgive me Baz. For I have sinned against your lyrical commandment, and I read Oyster Magazine. The only one, that to me, seems to make my eyes drool with lust and wonder for the stylistic and intergalactic approach to its uber cool editorial shoots, with models which make you wonder why you bother putting your "t-shirt of the month" on in the morning. Oh, an ode to a gifted face, Bravo Tallullah Morton and Bambi Northwood Blythe. Images Courtesy of Oyster Magazine. Website: http://oystermag.com/
